THE ALL ABOUT CHANGE SERIES

Michael Bell's NEW Thematic Painting Series of nine metaphorical Still-Life Paintings of Glass Mason jars on canvas, entitled "All About Change" is an homage to the symbolic power of currency, goals & prosperity, and for all of us who have had to put money in an allowance jar, a savings jar, or even a swear jar!

Each jar is filled with a selected amount of coins (change), and each with different set of goals taped to the front of the jars. The first three paintings are symbolic of a society that is evoking positive change, while the last three are about society paying the jar for misdoings to generate their change.

Bell's process behind creating observational artwork, such as the still-life, is an aesthetic experience that brings the senses and meaning together as one. This union of form and matter is an intimate relationship that turns ordinary objects into the extraordinary and the still-life becomes the the storyteller.
