ON SCROLLS & PANELS

Michael Bell's stucco scroll paintings and wood panel paintings are small in scale but dynamic in composition. The scrolls are created with stucco and acrylics. The wood panel paintings are created on mdf board using the grisaille or the verdaccio underpainting method with many layers of glazes and varnish, creating a lacquer-like surface.

"Known for his narrative and moving works of portraiture, Bell is an important and driven artist with intense charisma."
